What's more reliable -- Ford Focus or Mazda RX-8?

I'm looking at used cars. I found a Ford Focus and a Mazda RX-8 for the same price, they both have low miles. So it really comes down to reliability and maintenance costs. I've been reading up on the Rx-8's rotary engine, and apparently since it used less moving parts, it's more reliable than a piston engine and won't need to be repaired as often. But when it does, it might be kind of hard to find a mechanic that knows how to work on it.

Is this really a problem? Can someone give me a good comparison of these cars in terms of reliability?

The focus is much more reliable becuase the seals on the rotaries of the RX-8 are very fragile. More importantly, the RX-8 is famous for eating up oil due to the high rate of speed that the rotaries turn. If you are basing your decision on reliability alone, then the Focus is the better of the two. It is more reliable, easier to maintain and cheaper to repair
