What's it like to go from a smaller high school to a huge college/university?

I go to a school with around 1,000 kids; everyone knows me, I know just about everyone else. I want to go to a big school (NYU, Temple, Boston U, Villanova are just some of the schools I am thinking about) and I was wondering what it feels like to go from a school where everyone knows you, to a place where you have a huge amount of students?
