There's a book about Hitler by his architect that's supposed to be pretty good.

But he came from a bad home. Failed painted. Joined military. Was upset that they stopped WW1. Blamed most things on the Jews.

But most people said that he wouldn't listen to anyone. And most people that that he really was actually an idiot. Some say he wouldn't listen to advisors/peers. Even the allied countries weren't known to like him as well. Most people think he was gay as well and part Jewish, and had some weird projection going on.

I would say he was probably a pretty werid guy! I mean Charlie Chaplin was the only other real famous person with that mustache....

They were quite alike in many ways; both had a large ego, each convinced that they alone had the answer to everythin in fact both would have been ardent Yahoo Answer Fans certain their reply deserved a best answer every time. Both came from modest middle-class origins and if they had not been too consumed with their own ego and ultimately derided as monsters each would have served as an example of the 'American Dream' of raising one self from obscurity to wealth & fame. Each of them was an ardent Nationalist insisting that their Nation was the Greatest in Earth that their Nation (and do not let this talk about Hitler being an Austrian mislead you, he was Germanic in his core), each of them certain that their nation had the best art, the most beautiful women, the best food. Each man thought that he was a military genius though Hitler took the issue to the extreme while Mussolini was inherently weaker thus he allowed others to rule his destinity which was why Mussolini was the first to fall.
Oddly enough up to the mid 1930s for all his strutting comic opera mannerisms, Mussolini was actually doing o-k for Italy, but then when Hitler began to rise in Germany, Mussolini goaded himself to try and one up Hitler and this led to his downfall as well as ruin for Italy.
Hitler was the more psychotic the more messianic the more certain that he ought to be worshiped as if a God. Both men was what has become known as 'Cult of Personality,' each man felt that the best gift to give you on any occasion was a signed Portrait of themselves. Each man imagined rebuilding their nation in their own image though once again Hitler the suppresed architect had more grandiose dreams.
Hitler and Mussolini were, despite their reputation as monsters, kind to secretaries & supplicants, their close circle of friends were treated well - - - of course being their friend meant listening to each pontificate on how brilliant they were and enduring a constant flow of chatter about their opinion on art & other matters. Both men loved animals, in particular Dogs (Eva Braun was not the only B^tch in Hitler's life).
As befitting an Italian Mussolini was more senual than Hitler. Hitler was repressed sexually whereas Mussolini loved Women, marrying a woman and loving her deeply while equally fond of chasing a variety of women and ultimately dying with a mistress alongside.
Hitler had a ferocious temper and could not abide anyone arguing against him whereas Mussolini though equally certain he was right was able to laugh about his own foibles. People felt comfortable laughing at Mussolini behind his back but people feared even thinking bad thoughts about Hitler. Both could be described as strutting bullies and both left a legacy of shame for the nations that they professed to love so much so deeply.
