...that bad...? And what are some of the alternative fuel sources NASCAR could use in the cars?
No shortage of oil huh...then why is just about every gas station in the Atlanta Metro area out of gas

Are you huffing the gas? The shortage in Atlanta has nothing to do with oil shortages accross the board. Read the paper.

a) I'll drive off of that bridge when I come to it.
b) I don't think Maynard really wants to be president. ; )

They will think of something. That is why some of the smartest people who know about cars work for Nascar.

Alt fuels:
Alcohol
Solar
Hydra
combination of both/some
TNT, no just kidding

1. Only shortage will be man made, there is none.

2. All NASCAR & IRL cars use synthetic oils, not oil.

3. The gas is racing gas-107 octane. Custom blend. It has nothing to do with unleaded fuel for street cars. It would blow the heads off today's cheap aluminum engines.

First off there is no shortage of oil, what there is, is speculators buying futures, and holding them to drive up prices...

Nascar uses synthetic oil, not petroleum....

if there was no gasoline, they would reconfigure the engines to use ethanol....

Back in the 70's they had this problem and they shortened the length of races and set a goal for themselves to consume something like 15% less fuel and they managed to conserve about 20% less. They might have to go back to that but with all the money involved today I doubt they would do that again. In the 70's it wasn't as sponsor driven.
