Who cares that you're a Captian of your own ship what do you want a cookie or something Captian Crunch. If your not challenged at school then why not take courses that acttually challenge you.

The funny thing about people who drop out of college and say they will go back latter most of them never do. The few that do go back, go back because they are stuck in a dead end go know where job and going back to college is the only way out of their piece of shit job.

So I tell you what wake up and smell the roses keep you ass in college and get a far better paying job then what you think you could have so you can get a truely good paying job, and sail your dingy as a hobby till your hearts content.

I am perfectly willing to accept that. I would rather work a shitty job at this point.
 
If that's the case then why are you on here pissing and moanning about how lifes got you in a slump. I know what community college is and what it is for, I also know that if you want to go anywhere in college you need to move on to a university.
 
I am not pissing and moaning, I am seriously questioning my health and mental state. I have had trouble sleeping (lying awake for hours upon hours), had a persistant headache, and sinus problems.

I added the question about tragedy (death and illness) as an afterthought. Now hopp off my motherfucking dick, shitbag.

Look at this. I'm an engaged 20 year old young woman who's only got one semester of college because her full-time job was important because she was planning on moving in the next few months.

I'm now almost five months pregnant, with the baby due in July, I've got a part time job as a teller at bank, I've got a wedding to plan, I'm trying to find a house to raise my baby in, and I'm going back to school in August because I never intended for me to take this long of a break from school.

The problem with community college is the highest courses you can take are usually ones you've already done, especially if you were in higher education courses in school. I had that happen and it pissed me off.

Sounds like you're just not ready for college yet. Some people aren't. Go back to school when you're ready for it, don't go into it because you feel you must. I feel more ready for college now than I did when I started it, because I now have several really good reasons to succeed.

sucks man. don't know what to tell you. i decided to piss away my college education and never graduate. now i'm self employed and happy.

i think falling into this neverending, bullshit scheme of endless education is clinically designed to rape your mind. then, once you're too incoherent to realize what the hell is happening, you'll unintelligably throw out a payment towards another semester.

just hope in a few years you aren't working at mcdonalds trying to pay off $50k in student loans. because that would really suck.

...just don't quit smoking.
 
what the hell? who wants to go anywhere in college? i thought the point was to get out of college and go somewhere in life.

I think you need to read and pay more attention to what people write before you make a dumbass reply like you just did. You're not going to get far in life if your not going anywhere in college that is the point I am making here. I guess you just had to have me spell it out for you.
 
True dat, I was being sincere. Look Icarus, I dont know you, your family, or your situation. All I know is what I saw in the OP. You gave absolutely no other info other than what I responded to. To be honest, you came across as a college kid with some issues, and basically wanted to shut down, or was in the process of shutting down....nothing more, and nothing less. If you havent figured out by now, check my posts...and you'll see that I dont flame, and keep my sarcasm to a bear minimum when posting in topic/advice/rant threads.
 
sorry toad, i apologize. i just figured your university-fed literary skills would have been more successful in spelling things out the first time around. afterall, you did write "if you want to go anywhere in college you need to go to a university..." which doesn't make sense since college is not the point. getting somewhere in life is the point.

besides, i felt like being a dick since you were all over icarus for no reason.

You're failing to see the correlation between success in college, and success in life. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but this particular buttercup thinks doing well in college will have you a nice little spot in life afterwards.

Not that I agree with this. Just that you could use some boning up on your reading comprehension skills.

And anyway, Icarus does not have to go to/finish college in order to be a successful person. Now, let's stop and speculate a little on what exactly "success" means. Is it a high-paying job? Is it your life savings in your bank account? Or is it the level of happiness you are able to achieve, after everything is all said and done?

It is my firm belief that the only thing you need right now, Icarus, is support from your closest friends and family. Seeing as you've already dropped out of college, I imagine a considerable amount of stress has been dealt with. I can only wish you luck at this point!
 
A good education doesn't guarantee happiness my friend. There's plenty of people out there with degrees coming out of their arseholes who can't find a decent job because they've got no skills in the real world! Most of them are art students in all fairness but there are plenty of weiners out there who have filled their mind with so much knowledge they haven't got room for people skills.

They may well earn a fortune but they're stuck in their own little office from 9 to 5 and scurry home after work to live their lonely little lives without any chance of ever seeing what joys life has to offer, i.e the opposite sex, drinking with friends, doing something stupendously stupid just for the sake of it......and then death comes for them and they realise they've done jack shit with their lives.

I'd much prefer to earn enough to get by, to treat myself to a little something every now and then and be happy with what I've got. Fortunately for me common sense has provided me with a lot more than exams results could have done and I earn a good screw. As long as you're not a moron you won't end up working in a dog food factory and you can make something of yourself just by showing you've got what it takes to get the job done!
