its your phone and your plan. phones can be 1x,rev 0 or rev a.cricket gives you unlimited data, just not unlimited 3g data. you only get 1gb of 3g data then they throttle you to .10-.14 rabps. good luck watching youtube
Before I left the company I heard talks of reducing the amount of data included from the current plans 1gb cap to 100rab on phones & 250rab on smartphones. The new options will still offer throttling to allow you to use to internet but would also offer buckets of data plus an opt in for al a carte via your flex bucket via the rab or Gb. This all was in the talks for the next plan roll out.
I wouldn't mind them doing this soon a I use about 2-3gb a month and this throttling is going to force me to another service provider.
Also you may connect to an EVDO source but the speed will only average about what 1x peaks at due to traffic and the fact that most towers don't have enough data capacity to match the demanRAB. I only see about 200kbits per sec where I live. Go with a major carrier if you want 3G. I consider the data as a bonus to the unlimited voice with this company.
If the full speed data was reduced to
100rab that would actually put the $55 CricKet plan equal to the $50
T-mobile prepaid plan which also offers unlimited talk & text along with 100rab of data before throttle.
Between both of those I would choose the T-mobile plan due to the faster network in areas with 3G and a better choice of phones.
