My son went on a rode trip with friends about 800 miles away, before he left he took it to the shop and had some work done to it (new brakes, oil change, transmission fluid change) the mechanics said everything looked fine to go. Well he got to his destination fine, drove around that area for 5 days no problem. On his way back home with 50 miles to go his check engine light came on. He said it felt like he was losing power when he accelerated over 65mph, and his jeep ran fine between 55-65. He talked to some shop on the phone and they started telling him the price of a rebuilt transmission, because one of his friends told him he probably needs a new one. I am hoping for his sake there wrong, but what do you people think?
