Whats better standard GHDs mk4 or Salon GHDs mk4?

I have bought my fiancee GHD salons mk4 but im nopt sure if she would have been better off with the standard ones, she has long hair, not thin - not thick hair, just normal.

Is it still easy to do curly with the salon ones, I bought them - being a man - based on price, the solon ones were more expenive and so I assumed better.

Anyone help please?
