whats better 1997-98 yamaha yzf 600 thundercat or 1997-98 honda cbr 600 f3?

for my first bike i am planning to get one of these to but i cant seem to find any reviews or accurate tech spec

1.so which one is better for commuting but also being sporty when you want it to be

2. which is the better bike when it come to acceleration, top end and handling because i found loads of tech spec but not one is similar for example being on the yzf from having a top speed of 143mph and then another tech spec saying 155mph so which one is actually correct

3) which is the better bike for a 6 foot 4 nearly 6 foot 5 person
 
In relation to this I don't know about the Honda but a mate had a 600 Thundercat and loved it.

He is just under 6 foot and had no problems with it. He used it in all weathers for commuting to work but also for long distance rides and festival visits etc (until he crashed it going to the rock and blues).

As regards acceleration it was outstanding. I was following him one day in a two litre mondeo and had a hell of a time trying to keep up with him on the motorway. I backed of at around 115mph and he was still accelerating and left me for dead. In a short stretch of straight motorway he topped around 140mph

From his experience I would say go for the Thundercat, although I am biased as I prefer yamaha
 
Hiya mate...

I got a 97 CBR600F3 for my first bike and it was great. I was in the same situation... I wanted something sporty yet not so much that it ripped my hands off (you know what I mean). Anyway, I lasted about 9 months on that then bought a 2006 CBR600RR (now that's a bike!).

The months I had the F were amazing though, they're such great bikes and I learnt a lot from it. I'm glad I got that first as opposed to jumping straight on an RR/R6/GSXR...

I'm 6'2" and it was fine, no issues at all. I would think you'll be fine too.

Handling - I can't really compare as I've never ridden a thundercat but from what I read when I was researching is that despite the F being a bit of a sports tourer, it's got great handling/brakes (which it does!).

Speed - Hmmm I'm not sure on that either... I know my F was pretty damn quick. I wouldn't think there's much in it and if it's your first bike then I wouldn't worry -either one will turn your hair grey! I doubt either can hit a 'real' 155. Despite what the speedo says it'll be off.

There is so little between these bikes I would go for the one that has the lowest miles and/or is in the best condition.
Had a Cat and it was quite roomy - I am 6ft 1in but both of these are really too small for comfort for me.
My mate Matt who is 6ft 5in has given up, gone over to the dark-side and got a Triumph Rocket 3 and still looks all arms and legs!

If I were you I would not consider a lying down bike as you will be uncomfortable and will have bits of you sticking out all over the place.
A big naked retro like Honda 1300, Yam XJR1300 or Suzy GSX1400 will be much better for you.
A used honda X11 would be worth a look at.
