Whats Best Muscle Car to Buy?

I want to buy a car, and I want it to have that classic muscle care look to it but nothing rare because I want to update it and drive it around. I will be used for me to get back and forth to school which is 20 minutes away and anything around town. What would be the best car to buy in your opinion because I probably won't keep it 100% original when I update it. Please keep the pricing modest but don't let that limit your response.
 
Obviously Ford Mustang and the new chevrolet camaro are the best muscle cars you can buy. mustang is more affordable than camaro but camaro is more powerful
 
a new 2009 ford shelby GT500. It has the original '60s muscle car look to it and it will contantly run as it is brand new. They can cost upwards of $40,000 though.
