I'm choreographing a solo for future use at my dance studio. However, before I can start, I have to figure out what song to use- and if I can edit it to an appropriate time. What is an acceptable time for a solo, considering the dancer's stamina and also the audience's attention. For example, one minute for an audition is good, but one minute on stage can be a bit short. And just from personal experience, anything over three and a half minutes can get tiresome.
What's an average time for a lyrical solo?
