What exactly is a non stress test? I'm 40 weeks 4 days pregnant, had the midwife yesterday she done a membrane sweep, checked my babys heartrate which was 144 and she measured my fundal height which is 43cm, 3cm above what it should be, she said he is definitely going to be a big baby with feeling my abdomen and from the results of my growth scan.
For the past 3-5 days i've been feeling less movements and i told her this but she said as long as there is 10 movements in 24 hours that's fine, but she never really seemed concerned, i have been feeling about 15-20 in 24 hours but i've not counted them properly.
So in order to get NST done do i need to phone up the hospital and tell them i've not been feeling as much movements and what exactly is a NST?
Thanks girls! I'll monitor my babys movements for the next 4 hours, if he's not moved as much then i'll definitely call the L&D and see if they can check me out to make sure he's ok, i think i'm just overparanoid about things going wrong since i'm passed my due date. x
