I'm a Black Belt in Karate Do
I'm a Blue Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
and I have Krav Maga training.

But even though I go to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training 5 days a week, I try not people I do this. Every time the subject comes up of me practicing martial arts, people give me this look of disbelief, and tell me I don't look like someone who practices martial arts.

I started Karate Do in Middle School out of necessity because everyone in my class room was over 6 feet tall, and me to this day I am 5´6. I grew in an area where apparently there are no short men. I got A LOT of practice in Karate Do back in both Middle School and High School, guys were always trying to pick on me.

There were no other guys 5´6 in either Middle School or High School, so I would get in a fight every single week at school. That actually served me as practice, and helped me win medals at tournaments, I had too much real-life experience.

I'm not Asian, I'm not tall, and I don't have a ripped body, so I rather not tell people what I do at nights because I don't like people calling me a liar when I tell them about my martial arts background.

What's a is a person who practices martial arts is supposed to look like?

be humble :) I am GREAT in martial arts, but when i ask my friends'hey,if u dont know me,and u see me on thr street,do u think i can fight?' They always say,no way! But now that i know u,I can belive that'
Anyway,if u practise martial arts, your body should look good enough when u go swimming.

There are stereotypes and people who don't know anything about fighting are stupid to this subject. Some of the stereotypes are , tattoos, crazy hair, big muscles and stuff like this. But that is because people are stupid.

There is no certain way of looking. People makes stereo-types in their head and so many of my friends don't believe I have done Karate, BJJ, Aikido and some MMA training. My mom, who was 300 lbs at the time, did Aikido for a year or two. Yeah she was so fat that she could barely fit through the door of the dojo. I know someone who is 5' 6" and 120 lbs. He is the best fighter I know. Just get some pictures of tournaments that you do or the dojo. Or just show off a little :D
