What's a good Weight Loss Plan for Football?

I'm 5'10, 290lbs right now, I plan on playing football in college, but camp doesn't start until august. I want to get down to 260-265 and gain some speed but maintain my strength. Currently I'm playing tennis and track at my high school. I also try to lift a few times a week to maintain my strength. Also, I've been alternating jogging about a mile and biking around 3-4 miles every other day. The only thing I drink now is water and milk. I've also cut down on the food.
1)How long until I start seeing results, and what other things can I do to increase my weight loss.?
2) Does weight loss pills (stacker 2, firerox, hydroxcut) really work, and which one do you recommend?
3) I'm also taking amino acid pills to keep my muscle, so will that prevent me from losing fat?
