whats a good way to start a debate?

I'd like to start off in a happy and memorable way but not too corny. the topic is peer pressure does more good than harm. thanks so much. also if you have any points thats would be helpful too.
 
Listen, if its for a class once I had to start a debate so what I did is I gave a couple of friends some questions they can say or ask which would make me respond to them and start a debate.
That could be one way to start. Other would be yourself asking those questions and hoping for someone to answer them and start debating.
They dont have to be questions, they can be statements.
