What's a good lightweight mountain bike for under $400?

Hi I'm looking to buy a bike. I ride for fun on the weekends.

Here are the things I'm looking for:
-Needs to be really light, at least lighter than 30lbs.
-I don't need full suspensions, just the front is fine.
-Something that looks manly.
-I don't want to spend more than $400

Any suggestions?

I'm looking at Giant's Revel 2, $380, and Trek 3500. Now what is real the difference between these, and walmart/toys r us/target/costco brands?
