I've got a '97 Jeep Wrangler 4Cyl, 2.5L, Manual 4WD, and I'm looking to replace the engine & transmission. I'd like to upgrade to at least a 6Cyl, V6, maybe a V8. But I'm looking for a professional, or at least Jeep enthusiasts opinion as to what're gonna be my best options.
I've got a mechanic friend of mine that will do the work for me and I just need to decide on what to tell him to start looking for as far as used parts; maybe an entire vehicle to just replace all at once (engine, tranny, rear diff.). Any and all input will be greatly appreciated.
