If at all possible, I'd like to avoid going to a professional to get good family pictures taken. I want to be able to take professional-quality pictures of my children for Christmas cards, to frame and give to family, and just for the sake of capturing high quality memories. I know very little about cameras though. What should I be looking for in a camera? Any recommendations are welcome as well.
