What's a good BMX bike for starters?

I'm slowly moving away from skating (due to its lack of transportation), and I really want to get back home from school faster. So I thought why not get a bike? But of course, what's the point in biking if you can't do any tricks :)? So I'm deciding to learn BMXing.

I know only 2 companies, five star and mongoose. What would be a affordable, attractive, good bike for myself to start out BMXing?
 
GTs are awesome BMX bikes. I also used to have a Haro and those are good BMX bikes as well. You can't go wrong with either of these bikes man!
