Whats a better mid-life crisis car than the jeep wrangler but cheaper than a Caterham?

My dad is having a mid life crisis and he wants a 6 cylinder 5 speed jeep wrangler but I'd rather he get a caterham R500 or something like that. is there a middle ground?
