i am looking to buy a honda 50cc minibike so i can put all the parts in it to make it look cool..lol

like handlebars, new suspension, seat, graphics, exhaust, stuff to the engine.

and the reason i ask is cuz at one point i thought i heard that stores made more parts for a certain year of the bikes. myabe i heard wrong but if you can help thank you. plus if you have any suggestion on what the best kind of parts for these bikes are let me know!!

Get it old enough to be broken in, but new enough that it's not seen it's best days and is on the way down.

Parts places tend to focus on models that have had a long duration and bikes that are within 5 years old. So a 3 year old bike would probably be a good bet.

It sounds like this is going to be a first "project" bike. Are you thinking about something vintage or classic like the always popular Honda Mini-Trail 50? Or are you looking to really "trick" something out (newer models)? What is your budget? Can you do some/most of the work yourself or are you going to have to pay someone to do a lot of the work? Give me a little more detail and I can give you better answers.
