...repeatedly complains to us? When we moved here several months ago they said that their kids were being disturbed by our puppy barking in the back garden after 8pm....fine, we decided to be curtious and bring her inside after 8pm. Since then they have knocked on the door a few times complaining about barking!
Two weeks ago as I was returning home the neighbour approached me and said he didn't want to hear the dog barking again or he'd have to do "something" (We've already reported it to the Garda - and were told we'd done the right thing - just to have it on file, just incase....)
Today I walked into the kitchen and heard the neighbour shouting over the wall at the dog who was barking.....I walked out the back and told him that dogs bark and that dogs were allowed to bark.....he said it wasn't, I said it was etc etc
Anyway, has anyone else had a similar experience? We've checked the Control of Dogs Act and as long as the barking isn't "excessive" then it's ok for a dog to bark. When she does bark it's usually for a few seconds, and she may do that a few times a day (as in 4 or 5 times a day) Not in any reasonable persons view "excessive", imho.
Whoa! Sorry it's so long, lol!
One morning she started barking an the neighbour started shouting over the wall "stop that dog barking etc etc"......as*hole. Same thing a couple of days ago.
If it gets too heated we'll end up kicking the sh*t out of each other some evening, lol. Well, I'd only ever respond, don't think he's as rational and cool headed as I am, lol
Podge & Rodge: Muzzle ye two I will, ommmm.....lol Only kidding, lol. But seriously, dogs bark....and what's more, dogs are allowed to bark. Don't like the neighbours aggressive tone so today gave him a taste of his own medicine.
Like A Fox: She doesn't howl or anything like that...she barks, sometimes - and I stress sometimes - if she hears neighbours or see's them or see's a cat walking on the wall or whatever but that'll last a few seconds because once she starts barking we go to her and tell her to be quiet and she generally settles down. We have her inside after 8pm unless we're outside the back garden ourselves or unless she has to go outside to poo. And yes, she only barks a few times a day. And she is allowed to bark as long as it isn't "excessive".
Like A Fox: We do take her for walks and let her play in the greens most days. We don't keep her outside, when she is outside the sliding door is open so she can come into the kitchen as she wants to. Most of the time she is in the kitchen (or tv room with us)
I'm writing WAY TOO MUCH here, lol....
