What would you do if your mother-in-law "borrowed" your car?

You have two cars so you do have one to spare, but you also have a newborn baby and probably need both cars. Your mother-in-law isn't exactly responsible and has a family of her own and has no car, nor an intrest in purchasing one. Furthermore you want to keep a diplomatic relationship (remain friends) with your mother-in-law . And also your mother-in-law is a single mother of 4. So what would y'all do

Explain to here that you may need the other car unexpectedly and would rather not loan the car out because of insurance issues.

However, if she has an emergency, you should allow her to borrow the vehicle. Or, you can offer to drive her somewhere.

good luck.
