I am hoping to do my dissertation this coming year on major historical events in journalism.
I would like to know what events stick in your mind, not just cause of the scale of the certain event, but also the way it was reported.
I am talking about such things as The Falling Man picture being an image that everyone can recall from the Twin Towers terrorist attacks.
I don't mind if people want to use the terrorist attacks as their example but it would be nice to hear of some others too
Remember I am looking at this from a journalistic side, so I need to hear about what articles/pictures that sum up the event you are talking about. If you want to talk about something before your lifetime that's fine.
Don't worry I don't want to quote anyone in my dissertation, just looking for ideas, thanks
