what would you be doing if you packed your rucksack the same as if you would pack...

...a civilian backpack but? using army gear and uniform? and while at the same time caring your rifle, outside of the basic number of rifle magazines, what else would you carry for fire power?
when did they go back to using lead in their bullets? i was sure they where using steal for the bullets
