...Dodge Ram 1500? I have a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 that the automatic transmission went out on (lost reverse). I have a refurbished transmission to put in it, and am wondering what I should expect as a labor cost for a garage to do so.

You should be able to find someone to do it in their driveway for about $100-$150. Don't forget the cost of trans fluid. A garage should do it for about $300.

More like $700 at Aamco or Mr. Transmission or LeeMyles etc. If you get a sidewalk mechanic, anything goes (or not goes once you put it in gear)... sorry for the pun. . .
