I have a 1996 Ford Explorer XLT. It has the 4.0 V6. On the 4x4 switch inside the vehicle it says 2wd,4wd auto,4wd low. The u joints are all tight, the cv joints both seem to be fine and the fluids are good in the pumkin and transfer case.It seems like it is kicking in and out of 4wd. It makes a clunking sound when you use it and it seems like the drivers side front is doing all the work. The passenger side front dont even move. Both rear tires and the front left will spin in the snow but the right front dont do anything. I just need some ideas on what it could be. I am thinking maybe the activator switch is bad and its not letting both front wheels kick in.
