what would make a brand new spark plug wire in a 91 honda prelude go bad 2 months...

...after you change it? I accidentally killed my car and then I started it back up but it revved to a normal RPM then slowly died.
When I tried starting it again it would turn over and try to start. it took about 15 seconds for my car to start.
I decided to look at the wires and the middle one is going bad...AGAIN.
Whats the problem here?
