What would happen to a 13 year old boy if he assaulted someone with a weapon in the UK?

What will be the consequences?
A weapon witch isnt classed as an "Offensive weapon" I aint on about brass knuckles or a switch blade or nothing like that.

I mean somthing like a pole or a hammer


I know they are classed as offensive weapons if your walking about with one but they are not illegal.
 
Depending on the severity of the assault...He'd be reported to the police in the first instance... If not deemed too serious, he'd be reveiwed by a childrens panel and handed down a caution and if serious enough he could find himself in a Young Offenders wing of a prison with a criminal record.
 
Probably a Care Order, then it is up to the Social Workers to decide if he stays in the Community.
 
A few years in juvenile detention, a crap record for years after making it difficult to find a job better than working in macdonalds.
