I was driving My 02 Ford escape up a mountain and I lost almost all of my power. then a few miles later i heard a small bang and then it sounded like wind coming out of a pipe. When I looked I saw a hole in the side of my egr valve. What would cause that to happen. Was the egr valve it self not working properly or is there likely another problem that will cause a new valve to blow?
what would cause my 02 ford escape egr valve to blow a hole in the side of it?
