...warning when driving? I have a 1994 Ford Probe GT that has recently started to die when I'm driving it. (very dangerous and annoying) It doesn't idle or jerk or give any notice of when it is going to die. Everything in the engine just quits and I have to turn off the road to get out of the way. The car will not start up after wards When it does start it doesn't seem to be getting fuel and the engine struggles. I replaced the fuel filter which has gotten rid of the gas smell but has not fixed the problem. I am about ready to replace the pump but I would like a second opinion before I get into too much work.
 
It sounds like the fuel pump is the only problem, my dads car did the exact same thing, he replaced the pump and it was fine.
