what would cause the vehicle to fail to start?
Details:
No reverse lights or intermittent for several months.
intermittent fuel gauge for several months
Dead battery and fried starter.
Slow, dragging start or failure to start on first and second attempts but starts after third attempt when gas pedal is pressed for several months.
Have replaced starter, ignition switch, battery. Still no crank! Then today started jeep by pressing on gas pedal. Shut off engine and the it refused to start again! Last day it ran the vehicle had dragging start and I felt a small jolt from the vehicle when the engine did start. Now with new battery, dashboard volt meter showing 9 volts after i did get the vehicle to start. Can't remember what it read before it started. Any suggestions? CAN NOT AFFORD TO TAKE TO A MECHANIC AT THIS POINT
