So here's the thing. I'm about to take up Photography as a major subject in my college course, something I'm excited about and have been looking forward to. I have been fond of photography for a long time; taking pictures with my old digital camera and several camera phones. Now, that I am about to take up Photography, I will of course need a camera and I've been saving up to buy the perfect camera I need. However, being a beginner, I have no idea which camera is the best, i honestly don't have any ideas on the models and all that stuff. I want a camera best suited for a beginner but something that can also improve my skills.
So, here's where I would like to ask, which professional camera would be great for a beginner like me??
I'm looking for something that lasts long... meaning that I won't have to upgrade every time a new model comes out. Something that's very dependable that I can start on, before switching to more sophisticated cameras as I improve. I also read about Canon PowerShot SX10 IS, someone suggested it to me as well. They say, although it might be "out-of-date", it's still a great camera to start with. True? If so, is it any good??
May I also mention that I seem to have grown fond of Canon cameras. So Canon camera suggestions would be great. People also suggested that i buy a Canon SLR right away, they say it's better than DSLR cameras. Is it OK to start with a very sophisticated camera immediately?? And are those camera any good as well??
I would love suggestions from the professionals, nothing is better hearing it coming from them, but any suggestions from anyone would be awesome.
Also, if you can provide links or any site that would help me learn more about camera models and stuff, that would be much appreciated as well.
Much thanks in advance.
