What would be the benefits of bombing Iran?

As a half persian american, the thought of bombing Iran saddens me. But despite my personal feelings, I just simply cannot understand what the benefits of bombing Iran would be? There is a theory that Iran's consideration or converting to the euro is the real reason, and that this was also the real reason behind Iraq. What are your opinions on this theory, and if you're not aware of it, below is some background info. I truly think many American's misunderstand Iranians. But I also think, that if we did go to war with Iran, we would be sorry...really sorry. So tell me, what do you think? What to we American's stand to gain?
