TWO AQ 2.5's on 600rms? Hello!
Well I am still learning all about car audio. I've had several systems in the past. I've had single sub hookups, double sub hookups and even a triple sub hookup. I have learned that so many variable go into making a sound system sound great and get loud. Nobody really tells you what these variables are, other than mainly the box, car type and airspace. I am slowly learning these things. I just know that some subs must be desgined a lot better and hit a lot harder than others. For instance, I just ordered a Treo SSX sub, because there's a lot of hype about them being the loudest SQL woofer out there. So, I am really excited, but also scared at the same time, that it could of just been a waste of money. Another thing that scares me is that I hear two weak 12's hit harder than one strong 12. I have already had setups consisting of two weak 12's (and even a hard hitting setup consisting of two audiobahn flame Q's which were 1100 rms a piece. I only had them hooked up to a 500 watt amp though, and so far that is the hardest hitting system I've had yet. But I need something that will hit even harder. I need the kind of bass that you can hear from a mile away. I am wondering if I chose the right setup or not. I had a choice between getting TWO AudioQue Street Duty 12 inch subs which are 600 Rms a piece. I was told these hit a lot harder than w7's so they must be pretty extreme. And I've seen videos to confirm this. So, my question is this- Will the setup I have hit harder than the TWO street duties CONSIDERING I put 600 RMS to EACH AQ sub. That would be 1100 RMS total for the two subs together. However, my setup will consist of only ONE sub, but I will have 2000 watts RMS going to it. So, half the subs, but twice the power...what would hit harder? I have an integra hatchback, and plenty of space in the car to add more subs later if I need, but I hope this will get loud enough as a single sub. I mean with all the hype, it should. I am not looking for 160 db's or anything stupid like that. I just want the loudest street bass. I have heard before that 2 12's will get louder than a single 12...even if the single 12 is more powerful. But in my case, I am going to have twice the power. So, that is why I am asking. So, again in summary- One 12 inch Treo SSX running on 2000 watts rms VS Two 12 inch AQ street Duty 2.5's on 600 RMS a piece. (PS- I will be using the AQ 2200d amp for the Treo which puts out a little over 2000 rms. Will this blow the Treo sub, as it's only rated at 2000?) If I had gotten the Two AQ's for my setup, I would of ordered the smaller AQ1200d amp instead. Thanks again guys.
ADDITIONAL INFO- I plan to get the big 3 done, and an extra battery to start. Then, later down the road, I could order another alternator if mine fails. Or should I get the Alt before the install?
