My husband's office is having a dessert contest this summer and I want to win! I am a moderately experienced home baker, so I am not affraid of a challange. My husband works in an office full of middle aged women, so you know they love chocolate. For another party I recently made ancho chili fudge cupcakes and they loved them, mostly because of the 2 tbs of ganache topping each one.
So, the ladies love chocolate, but I also feel like summer is the best time to showcase local, seasonal fruits. Here are some ideas I have been toying with:
Raspberry Truffle Tart- An almond biscotti crust filled with a raspberry flavored chocolate ganache and topped with fresh rasberries
Bananas Foster Cheesecake
Chocolate and raspberry cheesecake
Peach and Blackberry Pie
I would really like to do something that incorporates fresh fruit and chocolate, but so far the raspberry tart is the only dessert I can find that sounds good.
I would also love to do something that uses citiris, because I love how beautiful candied citris rounds look!
I might like to do a cake, or cheesecakes are always great.
I'd love to hear your ideas and recipes!
