What would be a good remedial book on math to sharpen me up for college?

I am returning to school at the age of 46 and need to sharpen up a few skills that I've either forgotten or don't know. I was never really bad at math but I know I got better when I was using it regularly and don't want to buy oodles of books. I remember one introductory algebra book that was good at sharpening up basics (like word problems and fractions...etc.) but don't remember the author
