What would be a good idea for a Manga sidekick?

Wow how very cliche... I thought next you were going to say "a robot who wants to love" lol

Since its christian, try a wise-cracking little demon who claims to have converted to god (but hasn't really and is trying to trick the protagonist) who may or may not actually switch later
 
A Muslim. Plain and Simple. u have a devote Christian and a Muslim. Both believe in the dame God just choose different beliefs about that God. Both believe each other a heretic. Just don't make one religion better than the other.
 
I'm trying to figure out what sidekick would be good for a Manga series based in Christian faith and the supernatural, First, A Humanoid Dragon wanting to right his wrongs and become human again, second a wolf, in the same nature as the dragon, or a cherub, being a teacher to the main protagonist.
