What would be a good first street bike?

I am 17 and looking to buy a street bike of some sort. I weigh about 155 and I am 6'2". My price range is no more than 2000. I have have been riding dirt bikes for 4 years. What would be a good bike? I was looking at the ninja 250 but I believe it might be too small as far as power. Thanks
