What would be a good camera that's meant for people in the photography business?

I'm going to start saving up for a camera and before i do that i need to know what im saving up for.
im looking something that has:
-good resolution
-rechargeable (no batteries! but that's not required)
-not terribly priced
-has all the requirements that you need for the whole photography business
-sturdy (doesn't break easily)
etc..
 
We need more information, and so do you. What do you want to photograph? People, nature, sports?

Midgrade cameras: Canon 50D, Nikon D90 are a great start for anyone, and will do almost absolutely anything you want. These have the resolution to print 24x36 without too many problems, about $1200.

But this is where you're really naive...

Camera body
Multiple lenses ... I mean a lot!
Multiple lights / flashes
Computer that can handle post work
Software

The actual camera is a very, very small part of what is needed.
