What would a AEM cold air intake do for my 1995 Chevy Tahoe?

I have a 1995 Chevy 2door Tahoe and I was looking on www.cardomain.com at same other tahoes and a lot of them have AEM cold air intakes. I was wonder what it does and if i should get one.
