Where I live in U46 school district, they cut teachers jobs to save money.?
I understand we need to make some cut backs. I understand people will have to step down in rank and pay and some may even lose their job.
What I don't understand is why the teachers? It seems to me that the children are the future so why are we taking away from them. We as adults need to pay the price for the mistakes we made..... cutting teaching jobs only shorts the kids out of a better education. If kids are the the future leaders of the world don't we want them to be educated better then we are today. It looks like we are passing our broken system on to the children.
On an other note; I know a lot of teachers that went to school to teach for 4 to 6 some even 8 years, because they believed in teaching the children. Some of those teachers are still paying off school loans yet this school district just cut their job. Now not only are the kids going to miss out on a better education from teachers who have dedicated their lives to the teaching children... but the teachers that were let go from their jobs are going to have to make even further sacrifices to pay off those student loans. That means their families will have to do without because of mistakes that they did not make.
I see the children getting left behind and the teachers who were let go suffering.
How is this a good idea?
Why did it come down to this?
Why are we allowing this to happen to our future leaders?
Why are we allowing our kids educators to suffer after they have already made so many sacrifices to educate our children?
