what will Obama do to education?

Not much, the teacher's unions are the ones pulling the strings in public education right now and they, like most unions, vote democratic so Obama isn't going to do anything to piss them off. I'm sure he'll throw more money at it. That's always worked so well in the past. (note the sarcasm)

He says he wants to do an incentive pay for teachers.. But I, like many of you, got a flyer in October that had his face and a teachers union sponsorship. So I know he won't do it or he'll lose a big contributor to his re-election. If he does go though with it. The democratic ran (union sponsored) congress will knock down that dream in a hurry.

Increasing the pay for teachers. Isnt that wonderful, we already spend more on education than any other country per capita - and we get poor results.

He probably won't do much if anything to it, though he may help provide more federal aid to pay for college. K-12 is mostly regulated on a state by state basis.

He's supporting performance-based pay for teachers.

I recall some good teachers and some do-nothing teachers in my past. Perhaps a financial incentive would encourage teachers to become good at it, remain in teaching if they're good at it, or get out if they're not.
