Thats just reminded me of the farce that was the digging up of the millennium time capsule on Blue Peter.
They dusted off some former presenters to dig up the capsule that was buried in the 1971. Contents included some rolls of film and one of the dog's collars so future generations could know what life was like a whole 29 years beforehand...
As it turned out the capsule wasn't watertight so all that was dug up was a soggy decomposed pile of debris. What a waste of 3 decades!

I think they should have learned from the last time capsules that it's actually better to not bury them underground. Better off storing them in the BBC warehouse!
