What will happen to me, spiritually, if I'm forced to kill an enemy combatant overseas?

It's not just you who is held responsible for directly harming those who want to fight. It's not you who is looking for a fight. They who want a theist government are also not a majority...

I have no intentions of going out "looking for a fight", it's not our mission. We're there to teach the people and help them grow as a country. Hypothetically speaking though, if we are engaged by an enemy force, and I have to fire upon, and kill, said enemy, what kind of impact would that have on my soul? Keep in mind, I would not hesitate to take the life on my enemy if it meant that my battle buddies could go home to their families, regardless of what it will do to me spiritually.

To those of you who offered legitimate advice to my weary soul, thank you. To those who questioned my resolve as a soldier, what have you? Have you served? Have you ever sacrificed anything for the greater good of God and Country? To RockoRock, the warrior in me would smash your face into a blood pulp without a second thought though the Christian in me knows your useless post is simply the product of ignorance and misunderstanding.

Son you insult everyone who has ever served with your remarks!!!

If you are really serving then you will I am sure be well aware that people that have religious doubts about killing, even if they say they would, are seen as a possible danger to their comrades!!

Men in battle need to be able to rely on each other!!!

So the problems you foresee with your soul need to be resolved before you face that problem because until you do resolve it not even you can be sure you would pull that trigger!!

And yes I have been there and done that!
