In the next 6 months I'm planning on trading my 1999 Toyota Camry in. The car currently has 147,000 miles on it.

I'm the original owner since June 1999.

Many people tell me that if I trade in a car this old that the new car dealer will auction the car off to a junkyard.

Is this true?

It would be a total waste if the new car dealer where I purchase my new car decides to acution off the cars parts.

I'm in the United States.
Someone also told me that a new car dealer may choose to crush up my car for metal. Is this ture?

What does it mean for a dealer to scrap a old used car with high milage?

Toyotas can go for 300,000 miles easily.
