What were the greeks contribution to western civilization?

Goodness gracious...the Greeks contributed a huge handful of important things to western civilization. You can probably Google it and find out more than I can tell you. But to give you a vague idea...
Literature (Hello, epic poetry!)
Philosophy (Socrates, Plato, etc., etc...)
Theatre (Modern theatre more or less originated in Greece.)
Major astronomical discoveries.
Mathematics.

Etc., etc.
Like I said, Google can probably help you more than Yahoo Answers can.

Other than what the first person wrote, I think the most important contribution from the Greeks is the idea of democracy; democracy is derived from the Greeks, and they (but also the Romans) have contributed to the U.S government, and other democratic countries.
