weird i was learning about this in school today
they were RUDE
they didn't care about the jewish, they just wanted to kill the jews in the gas chambers. They tricked them into going their, so they probrably didn't carwe what happened to them, they just wanted them to die and suffer =(

The Germans in the camp were soldiers so they were trained to fight just like any other soldier. They were ruthless and for the most part believed in their cause.

Imagine this...

The Americans capture every Al Qaeda and Bin Ladin and stick them all in a camp. Every American soldier knows that these men are responsible for the deaths on 9/11 as well as in the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. If these prisoners were roughed up or suffered from disease and died do you think the soldiers would be bothered? If Bin Ladin was executed without a full trial would the public care? Or would they cheer the downfall of the hated enemy?

That was the attitude of the Germans. Although the Jews were innocent, the Nazi party had told the soldiers that these people were responsible for the defeat of Germany in WW1 and for the economic depression that had crippled the country. The German soldiers for the most part believed these lies because they had no reason not to. Most of them were not 'evil' as such. They were simply "obeying the orders".

BTW: I'm not trying to defend their actions. The holocaust was a terrible thing but most of the individual guards got away scott free with these excuses. Only the ones in charge were ever punished.

There are literally hundreds of sources online with interviews and testimonies. Try a simple google search or possibly wikipedia for more information.
