What were sports like during the 1960's?

Hi! I'm writing an essay on why the 1960's were so radical. One of my topics is pop culture and one of the sub topics is sports. I just want a general idea of what sports were like, who played them professionally(men or women?), and maybe something interesting about that decade in sports. If you can help me that would be great! Thanks
