Ancient Egypt depended on the Nile River for it's fertile agricultural lands, for transport of it's food and other goods, and for other reasons that water is useful to a mostly arid (desert) area.
There were several deities, both male and female that were associated with the Nile, thus it was incorporated into their religious traditions. This was due to the yearly flood of the Nile, which provided the rich, fertile soil on both sides of the river and into the delta area. These areas were used to grow food as well as flax, which was used to make the linen clothing they wore. It also provided the papyrus reeds, which they used to make a form of paper on which they wrote. Other plants were used as medicines for different illnesses or wounds.
The whole Egyptian civilization would not have existed without the Nile, as early proto humans and humans developed along this river. [email protected]
